Edison’s market is inherited mitochondrial and neurodegenerative disease. The Company is focused on those indications where four criteria have been satisfied: 1) defects in the mitochondrial respiratory chain are strongly associated with the disease mechanism; 2) CoQ10 has limited, but real, clinical benefit; 3) the Company believes its skills in redox medicinal chemistry can be applied to develop a better CoQ10; and 4) there are readily available clinical biomarkers that substantiate the energy defect in the disease and allow for assessment of drug benefit.
